Stock and readily sourced materials, with the notes our engineers actually use when choosing a blank for your part. Grades below reflect common workshop practice; we will confirm availability with your order.
| 6061-T6 | General purpose, anodises cleanly, excellent all-round machinability. |
|---|---|
| 6063 | Extrusion favourite; best choice for decorative extruded profiles. |
| 5052 / 5083 | Marine grade, good for sheet, welding and corrosive environments. |
| 7075-T6 | Highest strength in this group; use for structural and aerospace hardware. |
| 2024 | Fatigue-resistant airframe alloy; requires corrosion protection. |
| Copper-free CNC alloys | Specified for medical and semiconductor contact parts. |
| 304 / 304L | The default stainless; passivated for improved corrosion resistance. |
|---|---|
| 316L | Molybdenum-bearing; for chemical, marine and implant-adjacent use. |
| 17-4 PH | Precipitation-hardened; strength with stainless corrosion behaviour. |
| 420 / 440C | Hardenable cutlery and blade steels; polishable to mirror. |
| 1.2344 / H13 | Hot-work tool steel for moulds and die inserts. |
| P20 / 718H | Pre-hardened plastic mould bases; weld and texture well. |
| Ti Gr2 | Commercially pure, corrosion-resistant, easy to form. |
|---|---|
| Ti Gr5 (6Al-4V) | High strength-to-weight for structural and medical parts. |
| C110 / C151 copper | Conductivity for busbars, contacts and heat applications. |
| Brass 360 / bronze | Decorative hardware, bushings and low-friction parts. |
| Inconel 718 | Nickel superalloy for sustained high-temperature duty. |
| Zamak 3 / 5 | Die-cast alloys for small detailed housings and knobs. |
| ABS | Tough, cosmetic, easily painted and glued; prototyping default. |
|---|---|
| PC / PC-ABS | High impact and clarity; good for enclosures and lenses. |
| POM (Delrin) | Low friction and excellent dimensional stability for moving parts. |
| PA6 / PA66 + GF | Glass-filled nylon for stiff, heat-resistant components. |
| PMMA (Acrylic) | Best optical clarity; machined and vapour polished. |
| PP / PE / UHMWPE | Chemical resistance and low water absorption. |
| PEEK | Continuous service to ~250 °C; aerospace and medical grade. |
| PVC / TPE / TPU | Rigid to rubber-like; seals, grips and overmoulds. |
How we choose with you
Material selection drives cost more than almost any other decision. A 7075 housing that could be 6061 with one added rib costs you nothing but a conversation; a PEEK part that could be glass-filled nylon saves four figures. Our DFM report always includes at least one substitution option where it genuinely helps.
Certificates and compliance
Mill certificates with lot numbers come standard on metals. For plastics and resins we supply data sheets, and RoHS / REACH declarations on request for exported batches.
